What should I study for the final exam?
The final exam will have several new listenings and one familiar listening that you will need to take notes for and then answer multiple choice and true or false questions. To help prepare for this section, you should listen to the audio texts from Units 2,3, and 4. You should also listen to the listening comprehension sections of the Q online practice and answer the questions that go along with each. Start with the units we worked on, and then try one or two new units for more practice.
There will also be several vocabulary questions using vocabulary from units 2,3, and 4. Much of the vocabulary comes from unit 4. You should review the synonyms that have close meanings. There will be one or two questions on the grammar from units 2,3, and 4. The questions will ask you to correct an incorrect sentence.
There will also be several questions where you will need to listen to words and choose the stressed syllable, so you should review stressing syllables from your book and in the Q online practice.
Review all the listening selections and their questions. Review why and how you make predictions. Review all the unit vocabulary. Review how to choose the synonym that gives the best meaning for a sentence. Review how to use the unit phrasal verbs. Make corrections in phrasal verb use. Review which types of words are usually stressed and unstressed in sentences. Review all the important characteristics of a presentation.
